DescriptionThe whole story▼
The RSV4 1100 Factory is Aprilia's top superbike for the road, and some of them end up on a starting grid in club and national racing. Anyone making that move soon learns that a race bike is inspected before it may leave the paddock, and the controls are part of that inspection. The Accossato EDF011 is a CNC-machined aluminium brake lever for the RSV4 1100 Factory, listed for 2021 and 2022, that mounts on the original master cylinder and offers adjustable reach and a choice of three blade lengths.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory, 2021 to 2022
- Fits the original front master cylinder
- Adjuster close to the pivot sets the distance to the grip
- Blade lengths short, standard and long; standard about 138 mm
- Black anodised hub, blade in one of seven colours
- Machined from solid aluminium
- Rigid, with no folding joint
- No German ABE documented: sold for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The EDF011 is produced by CNC machining from a solid aluminium blank rather than by casting, which gives dense material and consistent dimensions from one lever to the next. After machining it is anodised in two tones. The hub, with the pivot and the reach adjuster, is black; the blade carries the colour you order. Because the blade is one piece with no joint, the RSV4 1100 Factory's front brake feels the same through the lever on the last lap of a race as on the sighting lap.
Before You Enter a Race
A track day and a race meeting ask different things of a bike. At a track day the organiser mainly wants a machine that is safe and within the noise limit; at a race, technical inspection follows a checklist written into the rulebook, and the brake lever is on it. Many championships require a guard in front of the brake lever, meant to stop it being pushed in by another bike in close racing. That guard is a separate part. This lever does not include one, and whether your series demands it is worth checking in the regulations long before the first event.
On an RSV4 1100 Factory that races, the lever itself needs setting up for the grid rather than for the road. In race leathers, with the upper body tucked low, the fingers meet the blade at a different angle than on the road, so set the reach in full kit with the bike on a paddock stand. Many racers pick the short blade, made in blue, gold, green, orange and silver, which leaves the outer fingers on the throttle and cannot trap them at full pressure. The standard length of about 138 mm, available in all seven colours, remains the choice for riders who brake with three or four fingers.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF011 for the RSV4 1100 Factory of 2021 and 2022, mounted on the original master cylinder in place of the standard lever. For the same bike and years, the matching clutch lever is the ESV004. Because Aprilia's superbike range has carried several names and generations, compare your stock lever with the photos on this page before ordering.
Road Approval
No ABE is documented for road use in Germany. We sell the EDF011 for racing and track days.
