The Dragster is a Brutale built around one moment: the launch. Fat rear tyre, short bars, styling that points entirely at what happens in the first few seconds — and a riding style to match, because nobody uses one of these gently. That makes it the most transient-heavy bike in the MV range, and transients are where an air filter is felt rather than measured. The Sprint Filter P08 CM135S is a dry polyester element with roughly double the filtering surface, and that is what it protects.

This is the point most filter marketing misses. Restriction is not a fixed number; it scales with the volume of air being pulled through the element. Open the throttle hard and the engine demands a step change in airflow — and that is the instant at which a partly loaded filter costs you the most. The engine management meters fuel to the air that actually arrives, so nothing registers as a fault. The launch is simply a fraction less violent than it was, which on this bike is the whole point of ownership.

A Dragster covers fewer kilometres than a commuter and spends more of each one at full throttle, which is a duty cycle that hides a tired filter well: the service schedule says nothing is due, the riding says otherwise. Care and cleaning
