CK22311 closes the left-hand flank of the race tail. It is the panel that runs from the seat unit down towards the subframe rail, hiding the electronics and the loom that a stripped rear end otherwise leaves in the open air, and giving the rider's left leg a defined surface to sit against.

More Than Cosmetic
It is tempting to leave the flanks off a race tail and save the money. Two things argue against it. The first is dirt: an open tail collects everything the rear tyre throws forward, and connectors packed with rubber and grit are a reliable way to lose a session to an intermittent fault. The second is the rider. Hanging off a bike means loading a knee and a shin against the tail, and a bare subframe edge is a poor thing to load against through a long right-hander.
Left and Right Are Not Interchangeable
The two tail wings look similar enough in a photograph to be mistaken for each other, and they are not mirror images in practice — the mountings and the cut-outs behind them follow the loom on one side and the exhaust hanger on the other. Fitting the wrong one is obvious once it is against the bike, but far less obvious when the parts arrive unpainted and are handed to a paint shop in a box. Mark them before they leave the workshop.
Fitting Sequence
The wings go on after the seat unit is located and supported, not before. Fitted early they have to be sprung apart to let the tail settle, which is how a hairline crack starts at the leading edge of a panel that is otherwise undamaged.
