DescriptionThe whole story▼

A KX450X from 2021 to 2023 often races in hare scrambles and cross-country series where a single event can involve forest mud, open grassland and rocky sections. Accossato's AGPA51 front pad in the Sintered mixture is listed for these bikes and suits riders who race all year and need a front brake that grips well on a wet disc and keeps a steady feel as temperatures change.

Key Features

  • Front pads AGPA51 for the Kawasaki KX450X, 2021 to 2023
  • Sintered mixture, SKU AGPA51ST
  • Constant grip hot or cold, per Accossato
  • Works well after river crossings
  • Suits hare scrambles and cross-country
  • Also available as OR, STMX and EV1
  • No ABE held; competition use

Construction and Material Quality

For this compound, Accossato highlights a high, stable friction level at low and high temperatures and good grip in wet conditions. For a KX450X racer, that combination means a front brake that stays trustworthy through a long race in mixed weather. Accossato adds that its pads limit heat to reduce fade while stopping strongly. The sintered material is carried on the standard AGPA51 plate.

Hare Scrambles in Mixed Conditions

Hare scrambles combine long laps with varied terrain. One moment the rider is braking hard at the end of a fast field section, the next easing down a slippery bank. The front brake has to cope with both, whatever the weather, and the Sintered set is Accossato's choice for that task.

After the race, clean the caliper and disc, and check the pad thickness. On a bike that races every other weekend, change the fluid at least once a season and inspect the dust seals for damage. Replace both pads together to keep the braking even. If the lever creeps closer to the bar during a long race, stop at the next pit opportunity and check the fluid level before carrying on, as a low reservoir is easier to fix than a spent pad.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's catalogue gives AGPA51 for the front of KX450X models from 2021 to 2023. The 2024 bike uses AGPA29 at the front. At the rear, AGPP106 covers 2021 to 2024. Accossato also offers DK060 as a disc for this Kawasaki. The box contains the pads for one front caliper. Compare your old pads with the new set before fitting.

Road Approval

There is no ABE or other German approval document for AGPA51ST available to us. It is intended for motorsport.
