DescriptionThe whole story▼
The rear brake of a Triumph Thruxton 1200 does quiet but constant work: holding the bike on a slope, steadying it at walking pace, trimming speed in a line of traffic. Accossato's AGPA76OR is the Organic rear pad listed for the Thruxton 1200 from 2016 to 2019, and it is aimed at that everyday role. The mixture is chosen for a smooth, easy engagement at low speed and for its kindness to the rear disc.
Key Features
- Rear pads AGPA76 for the Triumph Thruxton 1200, 2016 to 2019
- Organic compound, SKU AGPA76OR
- According to Accossato: longer performance, limited disc wear
- Soft, easy response for slow manoeuvres
- Quiet at low speed in traffic
- Gentle on the rear rotor
- Also made in ST for this pad
- No German approval papers; sold for competition use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato says its Organic compound delivers performance over a long period and restricts wear on the disc. For a rear brake that is dabbed many times on every trip, this means a pad that does not chew through the rotor. The Italian maker, founded in Moncalieri near Turin in 1969, also designs its pads to limit heat build-up and to keep a strong stopping effect.
Low-Speed Control
Tight U-turns, filtering past queues and rolling down a steep driveway all rely on a light touch on the rear pedal. A pad that engages progressively lets you drag the brake a little while you balance the throttle, which is how many riders keep the Thruxton 1200 steady at walking pace. An abrupt pad makes that harder. The Organic mixture is meant for the calm side of riding: learner riders, commuters and anyone who simply wants the rear brake to behave predictably.
Rear Brake Upkeep
The rear caliper sits close to road spray. Clean it when you change pads, inspect the disc for grooves and top up the reservoir if needed.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists AGPA76 for the rear of the Thruxton 1200 from 2016 to 2019; the maker does not list it for the later model years of this bike. At the front, AGPA72 is offered for 2016 to 2021. A box contains the two pads for the single rear caliper. After fitting, press the pedal several times until it is firm and bed the pads in on quiet roads.
Road Approval
For AGPA76OR we have neither a German ABE nor any test certificate, so it is listed for competition use only.
Scope of Delivery
