DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Honda CB650R replaced the CB650F for 2019 as part of Honda's Neo Sports Café family, and its most striking detail is the set of four exhaust headers sweeping down the front of the engine. That four-cylinder sound is part of the appeal, but at many circuits it also meets a sound meter before the bike is allowed out. On Accossato's list the CB650R of 2019 is matched to the FC125, a quick-release cap machined from aluminium whose pawl carries a pin in one of six colours.

Key Features

  • Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Honda CB650R, model year 2019
  • Entire body CNC-machined from aluminium
  • Quick-closing pawl: open and shut in a moment
  • Pin in your choice of six colours
  • Replacement pawl can be ordered separately
  • Robust and durable according to Accossato, new design
  • No German ABE documented; circuit use

Construction and Material Quality

Aluminium is the only material Accossato uses for the body of the FC125, machined on CNC equipment, and the company calls the cap hard-wearing and robust. The design is Accossato's own and new. The quick-closing pawl lets you open the tank of the CB650R and close it again quickly, and it is the pawl that carries the coloured pin: blue, gold, red, silver, green or black. Accossato also sells that pawl separately, which means a damaged one can be swapped without buying a new cap.

At the Gate: Noise Test and Technical Check

Many circuits have neighbours, and noise limits are the price of keeping them friendly. At a track day this often means a static test before the first session: the engine is held at a set speed while a marshal holds a meter at a fixed distance and angle from the exhaust. The same queue often includes a quick technical look at the bike, and that is where the cap comes in. Marshals check for loose parts, taped lights, tyres and anything that leaks, and a filler cap that is not properly closed, or a damp ring around it, is an easy reason to be sent back to the paddock. Arrive with the cap fitted and checked the evening before, the tank not filled to the very top, and the area around the filler clean and dry. If a marshal wants to see the cap open and close, do it with the engine switched off. Once the CB650R has passed the meter as well, the only thing anyone needs to listen to for the rest of the day is the four.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato names just one year of the CB 650 R for the FC125: 2019. For later model years, please check the list again or ask us first. We sell the same cap for the CBR650R, the CB650F and the CB500F, each on its own product page.

Road Approval

The FC125 has no documented German ABE or parts certificate, so it is meant for the track. The CB650R's own filler cap normally needs the ignition key, and for road riding that original should be refitted.
