DescriptionThe whole story▼
For many teenagers the Aprilia RS4 125 is the first motorcycle with a fairing, a rev counter worth chasing and a face borrowed from Aprilia's superbike. Riders of that age often learn the workshop side of motorcycling along with the riding, with a parent or an older friend holding the torch. A fuel tank cap makes a sensible first project: small, clearly laid out, and a good way to learn habits that matter on every bike. The FC101 from Accossato is a quick-release fuel tank cap for the RS4 125, machined from solid aluminium, pawl in one of six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Aprilia RS4 125
- Listed model years: 2011 to 2016, 2018 to 2019 and 2021 to 2023
- Also listed for the RS 125 four-stroke of 2021 to 2023
- Entirely CNC-machined aluminium, sturdy and long-lasting according to Accossato
- Quick-closing pawl for fast opening and closing
- Pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Pawl can be replaced on its own if damaged
- No German ABE documented; for use on closed circuits
Construction and Material Quality
The FC101 comes entirely out of CNC-machined aluminium, and Accossato describes it as sturdy and long-lasting. The design is fresh, and the closure uses a quick-closing pawl that opens and closes the RS4 125's tank without fuss. That pawl is also the coloured part, offered in blue, green, black, red, silver and gold, which gives a young owner an easy way to make the bike their own. Because Accossato sells it separately as a spare, a damaged pawl does not mean buying a whole new cap.
A First Job in the Home Workshop
Start with a cold engine and the bike parked on level ground, ideally on a paddock stand, with the tank not brim-full so nothing spills when the original cap comes off. Work somewhere well ventilated and keep anything that could spark well away: no cigarettes, no grinder running on the next bench, no inspection lamp hanging over the open filler. Before the new cap goes on, look at the surface it seals against. Dust, old fuel residue or a stray flake of paint can stop the seal from sitting evenly, so wipe it clean with a lint-free cloth. Once the FC101 is in place, close the pawl and check that the cap sits flat all round. Then add fuel and look again a little later for any damp patch or smell around the rim. It is a modest job, but doing it properly on an RS4 125 builds the care that a bigger bike will ask for later.
Fitment and Compatibility
Five entries on Accossato's list lead to this cap: the RS-4 125 from 2011 to 2013, the RS-4 125 Replica from 2014 to 2016 and the RS 125 four-stroke with ABS from 2021 to 2023, plus the 50 cc two-stroke sister as the RS-4 50 Replica of 2014 to 2016 and the RS-4 50 Euro 4 of 2018 and 2019, which is where those two years come from. There is no entry for 2017 or 2020. The same cap is also listed at Inter-Pace for the RS 457 and the Shiver 750. Check your exact version before ordering.
Road Approval
The FC101 has no German ABE and no documented parts certificate, so its place is a closed circuit. The RS4 125's standard cap usually needs the ignition key to open, and for road riding it should stay on the bike.
Scope of Delivery
One Accossato FC101 cap with the selected pawl colour. The pawl is also available on its own as a spare.
