DescriptionThe whole story▼

The RSV4 1100 Factory sits at the top of Aprilia's superbike range, and it wears floating front discs for a reason that has everything to do with heat. Accossato's DKS032 is built on the same principle. It is an Elite disc with a black carrier and the Accossato logo on its rivets, listed for the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory from 2019 to 2024, and it replaces one of the original discs on the front wheel.

Key Features

  • Elite floating front disc for the Aprilia RSV4 1100 Factory, model years 2019 to 2024
  • Friction ring and black carrier joined by rivets
  • Rivet heads marked with the Accossato logo
  • 330 mm outer and 64 mm inner diameter
  • Ring thickness 5.5 mm
  • Minimum working thickness printed on the disc
  • One disc per order, two per bike
  • No documented German ABE; track use

Construction and Material Quality

The DKS032 is made in two pieces: an outer friction ring, 330 mm in diameter and 5.5 mm thick, and a black carrier with a 64 mm centre bore that mounts to the wheel. Rivets bearing the Accossato logo hold the two together. Accossato explains that its understanding of discs comes from Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3, and that the tolerances, together with the clearance between carrier and ring, were the subject of close study.

Why the Ring Floats

Under hard use the friction ring of a disc gets far hotter than its centre, and metal grows as it heats. On a one-piece disc the hot rim pushes against a cooler, rigid middle, and the stress can bend the disc out of true. A floating disc avoids that conflict. Its ring sits on the carrier via rivets with a small, deliberate clearance, so it can expand outwards on its own, and it can also align itself between the pads instead of being held at a fixed angle. That is why floating discs are standard on superbikes like the RSV4 1100 Factory. The same clearance explains something that surprises some owners: with the wheel out, the ring may shift or click very slightly on its rivets. That play is normal and intended. What is not normal is play large enough to knock while riding, or rivets that are cracked or loose in their seats, and either is a reason to replace the disc.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the RSV4 1100 Factory, Accossato's list covers the years 2019 to 2024. The RSV4 1100 Factory runs a disc on each side of the front wheel and this price is for a single one, so two are needed for a full change. Compare diameter, bore and thickness with your existing disc before fitting, and follow Aprilia's procedure for tightening the disc bolts.

Road Approval

No German ABE is documented for this disc, and there is no type approval either. Please use it on the track.
