DescriptionThe whole story▼

Club enduro sprints on hard-packed ground, or a supermoto conversion taken to the local kart track, put the Husqvarna FE 450 front brake under a different load from normal trail riding. For that kind of hobby competition on firm surfaces, Accossato offers this front pad in the EV1 street/track compound. It fits the FE 450 built from 2014 to 2023, and one box holds the pair for the front caliper.

Key Features

  • EV1 street/track front pads for the Husqvarna FE 450, 2014 to 2023
  • Strong grip for spirited road riding and amateur track use
  • Suits hard-packed tests and supermoto-style set-ups
  • Firm response under repeated hard stops
  • Two pads per box, one caliper set
  • Rear pad AGPP80 and discs DK017, DK018 and DK272 also listed

Construction and Material Quality

In Accossato's description, EV1 gives excellent grip for street riding and for amateur track riding. It is aimed at riders who brake later and harder than on a leisurely ride without chasing full race results. Accossato also names its general pad qualities: low wear, controlled heat build-up that keeps fading down, and high braking power.

Hobby Racing on Hard Ground

On hard surfaces the FE 450 front tyre can take far more braking force than in loose dirt, and that is where a grippier pad pays off. Hobby racers should check the brake before each event: pad thickness, disc condition, fluid level and the ease with which the pistons move. Fresh fluid is a sensible idea before a busy season, since tired fluid is the most common cause of a fading lever. After fitting new pads, clean and push back the pistons, pump the lever until the pressure is firm, and bed the pads in with a series of progressively harder stops. If the bike returns to muddy terrain, STMX is the off-road alternative, with OR and ST for everyday riding.

Fitment and Compatibility

This is Accossato's AGPA29 pad in the EV1 compound for the front brake of the Husqvarna FE 450 from 2014 to 2023. The FE 450 has a single front disc, so one box normally covers it; check if your bike has been converted. The rear caliper of the same FE 450 takes AGPP80, and Accossato lists the discs DK017, DK018 and DK272 for this model.

Road Approval

For these pads we have neither a test report nor a German approval (ABE or test mark), so they are offered for racing and competition.

Scope of Delivery
