DescriptionThe whole story▼
The ZX-10RR was built in limited numbers, and bikes like that are kept differently. Owners hold on to the original parts, ride with replacements and put the factory pieces away for the day the bike is sold or returned to standard. On the clutch side, the Accossato ESK828 suits that approach. It is a lever for the Kawasaki ZX-10RR of 2017 to 2020, CNC-machined from aluminium and anodised, that replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mounting, adjusts for span and leaves the original lever free to go into storage.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the Kawasaki ZX-10RR, 2017 to 2020
- Replaces the stock lever at the original clutch mounting, so the original can be kept
- Adjustable span to the grip
- Short, standard (approx. 138 mm) and long blades, depending on colour
- Seven blade colours on a black hub
- CNC-machined, anodised aluminium
- One-piece rigid lever
- No German ABE documented; sold for the track
Construction and Material Quality
Two tones mark the ESK828: a black hub around the pivot and span adjuster, and a blade in the colour you choose. Both are the result of anodising, carried out after the lever has been CNC-machined from aluminium, and because anodised colour is part of the surface layer, it stays even and does not chip at the edges. The span adjuster, placed near the pivot, lets the lever be matched to your hand without any other change to the bike. The lever is fixed, a single rigid part without a folding joint.
Keeping the Original Safe
For a limited-production motorcycle, completeness is part of the value. A ZX-10RR that still has its original parts and paperwork is a more complete bike than one without, and owners of special machines often keep a box of factory parts for that reason. Changing the clutch lever is one of the simplest ways to adapt the bike without eating into that reserve. Clean the original lever, wrap it so it cannot scratch, label it and store it with the ZX-10RR's other spare parts, somewhere dry. The ESK828 then does the everyday work, set to your hand, while the factory piece stays as it was. On track, the short blade suits a two-finger clutch; the long one, made in blue, gold, green and orange, offers the lightest pull. Keep a note of the original lever's condition with the rest of the bike's records, since a future buyer may well ask.
Fitment and Compatibility
This ESK828 is for the ZX-10RR from its first model year, 2017, to 2020, and it fits the original clutch mounting. The ZX-10RR 1000 entry in Accossato's list names an earlier first year than the bike actually had, so the product is limited to the years in which the RR was built. Its brake-side partner is the EDF099 for the same years, so both levers can be changed and both originals stored together.
Road Approval
There is no documented German ABE for the ESK828; the lever is intended for track use.
