Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Zontes ZT 250-R (2019–2021) SM277S

Zontes listed the ZT 250-R for three model years, and it is the only 250 on this filter's fitment list. The element has outlived that: the same code is catalogued against machines built through 2026, because Sprint Filter numbers its filters by the housing they sit in rather than by the badge on the tank. Owners of a short-lived displacement usually end up worrying about consumables. This is one that stopped being a consumable.

The part keeps running after the model stops

A model leaves the range on the day a factory decides it should. The intake housing behind it carries on for as long as anything in the family uses it, and on this list that runs to 2026. Two useful things follow for a 2019 to 2021 machine. The element stays an ordinary catalogue item rather than a search through forums and old stock. And because a P08 is washed and put back rather than thrown away, the number of times you need that catalogue at all is one. A disposable panel ties a machine's future to somebody else's stock level; a lifetime element cuts the tie on the first order.

What is honestly on offer

Not more power. A drop-in element cannot give a standard ZT 250-R any, because the airbox volume, the inlet tract and the injection settings were signed off as one package and the filter panel was never the part holding them back. What changes is the shape of the restriction over time. A paper element is at its freest on the day it goes in and at its most restrictive on the day it comes out, and nothing on the instruments reports the drift in between. A washable weave goes back to its starting figure at every cleaning, so the machine spends far less of its life near the wrong end of that curve.

Care and cleaning

Compressed air, worked from the clean face outwards, is the whole of a routine service — what the weave stopped then leaves the way it arrived. If the surface is greasy instead of dusty, lukewarm water and a little mild detergent will lift it; rinse until the water runs clear. Let it dry in moving air at its own pace, never with a heat gun, a radiator or a flame, and refit it dry with nothing applied to it.
