The Panniers Still Fit

Spark states it on its own page: compatible with the original side cases. On an R 1200 R or RS that specification decides whether an exhaust is usable at all, because the standard luggage mounts sit exactly where an aftermarket silencer wants to be.

A carbon heat shield comes in the box rather than as an extra, which on a machine that carries a pillion and luggage is not a styling item.

Black That Is in the Metal

Dark style is an electrochemical treatment of the stainless surface, not a coating over it. Nothing chips where the clamp bites and nothing lifts as the silencer heats up. 3,0 kg against 4,5. On a 230 kg motorcycle it is not a handling revolution, and it would be dishonest to sell it as one. It is a kilo and a half taken from the highest and most outboard point at the back of the bike, and it is noticeable when the machine is being manoeuvred rather than ridden.

The Force Case

Force is Spark's plainest shape: a straight-sided body with an angled cut at the outlet and no ribbing or cap detail. On a boxer, where the silencer sits low and half-hidden behind the pannier frame, that restraint is the right answer — the case is meant to be seen in profile and not otherwise.

The end cap is black on both metal versions, which is what gives the outlet its definition against a dark case.
