Size chart MT Helmets Targo S
| Size | Head circumference (cm) | Head circumference (inch) |
|---|---|---|
| XXS | 51–52 cm | 20.1–20.5 in |
| XS | 53–54 cm | 20.9–21.3 in |
| S | 55–56 cm | 21.7–22.0 in |
| M | 57–58 cm | 22.4–22.8 in |
| L | 59–60 cm | 23.2–23.6 in |
| XL | 61–62 cm | 24.0–24.4 in |
| XXL | 63–64 cm | 24.8–25.2 in |

How to measure your helmet size correctly: Measure your head circumference with a flexible tape around the widest part of the head, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows. Measure 2–3 times and compare with the chart. Between sizes, usually choose the larger size.
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without uncomfortable pressure points. A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

This is Hakim Danish's 2026 season design on MT's entry sport full-face. Red at the brow and across the tail, a deep blue panel with a woven texture, the number 13 in white, DANISH lettered above the visor aperture — and, unlike the jet that wears the same scheme, a chin bar in front of your face.
What you get by taking the full-face version
MT applies this design to both the Cosmo SV jet and this helmet. The graphic is the same; the protection is not.
In a frontal impact the chin takes a large share of the load, and the difference between the two helmets is exactly that. If you like the design and your riding involves anything faster than town traffic, this is the version to buy. We would rather point you here and sell you the cheaper helmet than the other way round.
About the Danish 26 Season C5 finish
Gloss. Red covers the brow and returns as a broad field across the tail with the MT badge on white. Between them a deep blue panel carries a fine woven texture — printed, not fabric — with a white 13. Grey and white shapes break up the crown and the chin bar, and DANISH sits above the visor.
The texture is what makes this scheme work. A flat blue panel of that size would be dull; the woven print gives it a surface that catches light differently at different angles, which is why the helmet looks different in the sun than under a workshop light.
A replica is a paint scheme, and only that. This is a road helmet to the same specification as every other Targo S. Danish's own competition equipment is a different construction to a different standard. We say this because replica graphics are sold with a great deal of implication and the implication is not true.
There is no sun visor
The Targo S has no drop-down sun visor. That is the single most important thing to know before ordering, and it is the main reason this helmet costs what it does.
If you want a shade, you have two options: buy a smoked MT-V-14B as a second screen and swap it — a ten-second job with MT-QVSS — or step up to a model that has one built in. What you must not do is order this expecting to find a slider on the left side, because there is not one.
MT-QVSS
The MT-QVSS mechanism releases the screen with two buttons. It can be operated with the helmet on your head and with gloves on.
On a helmet with no internal shade, that mechanism stops being a convenience and becomes the feature that makes the helmet workable. Carrying a second screen and being able to change it at a fuel stop in under a minute is a genuine alternative to a drop-down visor — it is just one you have to plan for.
The MT-V-14B screen
High optical-quality polycarbonate, sealing against the shell through a rubber profile with an adaptive lip. It is prepared for Pinlock DKS209 and for the FogOff FOG003 and FOG017 inserts.
No insert is supplied, and no smoked screen either. Both are separate purchases.
ECE 22.06 and DOT
The current European standard, mandatory since January 2024. It tests 18 impact points instead of the 22.05's five, at multiple speeds, adds an oblique impact against an abrasive anvil that measures rotational loading — the mechanism behind diffuse brain injury — and applies a Brain Injury Criterion limit. The Targo S also carries DOT.
Sizes down to XXS
The Targo S runs from XXS (51–52 cm) to XL, which is unusual and genuinely useful.
A great many riders with smaller heads end up in an XS that is a size too big, because most manufacturers stop there. A helmet that is too big rotates in an impact and in the worst case comes off — no strap setting corrects it. If your measurement is 51 or 52 cm, this is one of the few sport helmets that has a size for you.
What the S in Targo S means
The Targo S replaced the Targo Pro as MT's entry into the sport class. It inherits a new shell design, the MT-QVSS mechanism and a housing for the universal UCS intercom — a specification that would have belonged a class higher a few years ago.
What it does not inherit is a sun visor or a spoiler. That is how the price is reached, and it is an honest set of omissions rather than a hidden one.
Retention and interior
The buckle is MT-Micrometric+. The lining is fully removable and washable, with pockets for intercom speakers.
New cheek pads settle a few millimetres in the first hours. Buy the size that is slightly firm on the cheeks; one that is comfortable in the shop is usually loose by the second month.
Living with a gloss replica
A helmet in team colours attracts a specific kind of attention, and it also sets a standard for itself: a scuffed replica looks worse than a scuffed plain helmet, because the graphic draws the eye straight to the damage.
Gloss shows fingerprints more than matt does, and in exchange it polishes — a light swirl comes out of gloss and is permanent in matt. Red is among the least UV-stable pigments in a paint shop: keep the helmet out of prolonged direct sun when it is off your head.
What it does not have
- No sun visor. The defining omission of this model.
- No safety rating. SHARP has not tested the Targo S, and there is no ADAC or Snell result.
- No Pinlock insert and no smoked screen in the box.
- No racing homologation. A road helmet with a race design, nothing more.
In the box
- MT Targo S helmet — Danish 26 Season C5, gloss red, blue and white
- Protective bag, user manual and MT Helmets stickers
- Clear MT-V-14B fitted. No sun visor on this model; smoked screen sold separately.
