DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Brutale 800 took the 675 chassis and gave it more torque, which made it a better road bike and did nothing for the riding position. This number addresses that directly, with reach adjustment in 3.6 millimetre notches and height in five millimetre steps, all on parts that fit the original top yoke.
Key Features
- For 28.6 mm tapered handlebars, 22 mm adapters optional
- Fits top yokes with 10.5 mm holes
- CNC-machined from EN AW 7075-T6, upper clamp 6082-T6
- Supplied with the model-specific adapter kit ABK-14
- Height: 5 mm steps with shims, up to five shims included (model dependent)
- Road legal under ABE No. KBA 91440, no acceptance inspection
Type B3
Gilles lists the Brutale 800 and the RR from 2013 under the type B3.
Tapered handlebar
The clamp takes a 28.6 millimetre tapered bar; a 22 millimetre bar needs the optional adapters.
Road Approval
ABE No. KBA 91440 lists the MV Agusta Brutale 800 for the 2DGT risers. The document notes: the original 28.4 mm handlebar is used without the reduction kit; they are approved with the original handlebar; with shims the height may be changed by up to 20 mm. Point 11 of the approval states that an acceptance inspection under §19(3) StVZO is not required, so no examiner is involved and nothing changes in the vehicle documents. The risers carry the KBA number; keep the printed ABE with the papers, it downloads from this page.
Scope of Delivery
The set contains the Gilles 2DGT risers made for this model, the model-specific adapter kit ABK-14 and the shims for the height adjustment. The ABE document downloads from this page.
Fitting
The risers go on at the original mounting points of the top yoke. Work loosely first, set the position you want, then tighten every fastener to the value in the Gilles instructions. Turn the bars from lock to lock before riding and check that cables, hoses and wiring still run free.
