DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Accossato PRS 16x17-18-19 radial brake master cylinder puts the pivot distance in the rider's own hands. Behind a 16 mm piston, sized for single-disc front brakes, sits a three-position adjustable lever that can be set to 17, 18 or 19 mm without removing a single part, so the same unit can be tuned from a light, long-stroke feel to a firmer, shorter one. Supplied here with a folding lever, long version, carrying a relieving eyelet, it suits naked, adventure and retro-styled machines running one front disc where the owner wants to dial in lever feel rather than accept a fixed setting.

Key Features

  • 16 mm piston diameter, suited to single-disc front brake systems
  • Pivot distance adjustable in three steps: 17, 18 or 19 mm
  • Folding lever, long version, fitted with a relieving eyelet (RST)
  • CNC-machined aluminium body with a natural anodised finish
  • Offset riser that reduces master cylinder deflection during braking
  • Passive lever stroke cut by more than 50 percent versus a standard radial unit
  • Stainless steel mounting screws and a galvanised steel bleed valve
  • Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material

Construction and Material Quality

The body is machined from aluminium billet on CNC equipment in Italy and left in its natural anodised finish. Mounting screws are stainless steel, the bleed valve is galvanised steel, and the seals inside are made from Formula 1 compound so they keep their shape through repeated heat cycles and contact with brake fluid. An offset riser, built into the clamp, resists flex of the unit as the lever is pulled hard, and the passive stroke, the travel before the pads make contact, is reduced by more than half compared with a standard radial master cylinder of this kind.

Three-Position Lever Ratio for PRS 16x17-18-19

PRS in the name marks this as a model with an adjustable pivot distance rather than a single fixed figure. Moving the setting to 17 mm gives the lightest lever action and the longest stroke, useful on a scrambler or commuter where a soft touch is wanted; 19 mm shortens the stroke and firms the pull, closer to how a dedicated sport setting behaves; 18 mm sits between the two. Because the 16 mm piston is sized for single-disc braking, Accossato presents this as a master cylinder that covers everyday road riding and adventure touring alike, letting one rider adjust between a relaxed commute and a more deliberate mountain-road pace without buying two cylinders.

Fitment and Compatibility

Fitment is confirmed for 54 motorcycles, mostly naked, adventure and retro machines carrying a single front disc, among them the BMW R1250GS, BMW R NineT, Suzuki V-Strom 650, Kawasaki Z900, Honda CB1100 and Suzuki SV650. The complete model-and-year list, including several BMW F-series and G310 variants, is shown in the Fitment tab. Owners of a motorcycle not listed should check handlebar clamp diameter, brake disc count and piston size before ordering.

Road Approval

This master cylinder has no ABE documented; it is intended for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Supplied in the box is the Accossato radial brake master cylinder itself, assembled and ready to fit, together with its mounting hardware. The brake light switch is not included and can be ordered separately under part number ID001 or ID002. The fluid reservoir is likewise not included and is available separately in several styles to suit the handlebar layout.
