DescriptionThe whole story▼

The rear brake on a KTM 1050 Adventure does most of its work quietly: steadying the bike in traffic, controlling speed on a gravel car park, holding it on a slope. Accossato lists this rear pad for the 2015 and 2016 1050 Adventure in the Organic (OR) compound, which the company says keeps performing over a long life and limits disc wear. It suits riders who use the KTM for daily trips and relaxed tours.

Key Features

  • Organic (OR) rear pads for the KTM 1050 Adventure, 2015 and 2016
  • Accossato cites lasting performance and gentle disc wear
  • Smooth pedal for low-speed control
  • Suited to commuting and relaxed touring
  • Two pads per box for the rear caliper
  • Front pad AGPA96 offered separately
  • Competition use in Germany

Construction and Material Quality

According to Accossato, the organic compound keeps working over a long period and treats the disc gently. On an adventure bike's rear brake, used often but lightly, that combination makes sense. The company also claims good stopping power and reduced fade because heat builds up slowly. It does not publish materials, and we do not describe any.

Low-Speed Balance on a Tall Bike

The 1050 Adventure sits tall, and slow manoeuvres such as U-turns, tight car parks and walking-pace traffic are easier with a smooth rear brake. Dragging it lightly steadies the chassis and lets the rider control speed without touching the front. An organic pad gives that gentle, progressive feel. If you often ride two-up in the rain, the ST rear pad is the alternative; for gravel and dirt, Accossato offers STMX, and for sporty road riding there is EV1.

Routine Care

Check rear pad thickness at each chain adjustment, since the rear caliper sits close to the chain and gets dirty quickly. Keep chain lube off the disc and clean the caliper when it gets grimy.

Fitment and Compatibility

This organic set carries Accossato's reference AGPA29 and is catalogued for the rear caliper of the KTM 1050 Adventure built in 2015 and 2016; one box is all the back wheel needs. The front brake on the same KTM uses AGPA96. With the old pads out, wipe the caliper bore area, retract the pistons carefully and give the pedal several presses before moving off.

Road Approval

No test report or approval mark is available for this rear pad; in Germany we offer it for racing and competition.

Scope of Delivery
