DescriptionThe whole story▼
Some of the most memorable enduro riding happens on trips rather than races: two or three days on the trails with friends, a guesthouse in the evening and the bikes lined up outside. A Husqvarna FE 501 from 2014, 2015 or 2016 suits that kind of riding, with a big single that pulls calmly from low revs. By the evening of the first day, though, riders and bikes both need some care. Accossato's enlarged footpegs in Ergal fit these three FE 501 model years and come in six colours.
Key Features
- Enlarged Accossato footpegs for the Husqvarna FE 501 of 2014 to 2016
- Made of Ergal, a high-strength aluminium alloy
- Wide base for days spent standing on the trails
- For motocross, enduro and off-road motorcycles
- Orange, blue, green, black, red or Titanium
- A left and a right peg
- Later FE 501 years: separate Accossato sets
- No German ABE on file; for competition
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato's catalogue lists these as enlarged pegs of Ergal for motocross, enduro and all-terrain riding. Ergal is an aluminium alloy of high strength, and the enlarged platform is there to give the boot more support than a smaller peg. The pegs come as a pair for the left and right, and the colour list for the FE 501 of 2014 to 2016 includes orange, blue, green, black, red and Titanium. The maker publishes no further details, so this description stays with those facts.
The Evening of Day One
After a long first day the temptation is to park the bike, shower and head for dinner. The better routine takes a little longer. Walk round the FE 501 and look at the tyres for cuts and the spokes for looseness, check the chain tension and oil the chain, and look at the air filter if the day was dusty. Levers, bars and footpegs deserve a look too, since a tip-over on a rocky trail can bend a peg without the rider noticing. Fold each peg up and let it snap back.
The rider needs looking after as well. Feet that have spent the day standing on the pegs are often sore under the arch, and wet boots will be even less pleasant in the morning; stuff them with newspaper and leave them somewhere warm and ventilated. Dry socks for day two make a real difference. On the bike, a broader peg spreads the load over more of the sole, which counts for more on a trip than in a short race, because the days are long and there is another one tomorrow.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists three footpeg sets for the FE 501, by model year. This one, the FR795, is for 2014 to 2016. Bikes from 2017 to 2023 take the FR798, and those from 2024 to 2026 the FR809. Check which year your FE 501 is, compare the photos and colours of the sets, and ask us if you would like a hand. The FR795 is also listed with us for the FE 250, the TC 125 and the TE 125.
Road Approval
No ABE or equivalent approval is available to us for this set, so it is offered for competition use.
