DescriptionThe whole story▼
A good many Panigale V4 S machines lead two lives. On weekdays in summer the bike goes out on the road, ridden at sensible speeds with the number plate still on; three or four times a year it is trailered to a circuit, taped up and ridden properly. The front brake feels both of those lives, and it is the system that shows the difference first. The TS003 from Accossato caps its fluid reservoir with machined aluminium, anodised in seven colours.
Key Features
- Front brake fluid reservoir cap for the Ducati Panigale V4 S
- Accossato's application years: 2018 to 2020
- S Corse version of 2019 and 2020 named in the same list
- Replaces the original cap on the standard reservoir
- CNC-machined aluminium with an anodised finish
- Seven colours: blue, green, black, orange, red, silver, gold
- FP004, FP007 and TS012 listed for the same machine
- No German ABE in our files; a part for circuit use
Construction and Material Quality
Machined in aluminium and finished by anodising, the TS003 is offered in blue, green, black, orange, red, silver and gold. Anodising puts the colour into the surface of the metal, which suits a component that lives in the weather and gets wiped clean more often than most. Accossato builds the cap for the front reservoir Ducati fits to the machines on its list, so a Panigale V4 S keeps its braking system unchanged and swaps only the part on top of it. The diaphragm that was under the original cap is worth a look while everything is open; hardened or torn, it should be replaced before the new cap is fitted.
Two Lives, One Braking System
A bike used on road and circuit does not get to average its service intervals. Heat cycles on track age brake fluid faster than a summer of commuting does, and fluid that has taken up moisture over time copes with heat less well, which is why the owner's manual interval should be treated as the longest acceptable gap rather than a target. The change itself is a workshop job that finishes with a proper bleed. Around it, the routine on a Panigale V4 S is simple. Stand the machine upright, turn the bars until the reservoir is level, cover the tank and yoke, and keep water within reach for the splash that brake fluid will otherwise leave in the paint. Clean the reservoir top before opening it, check that the level lies between the marks, and note whether the fluid is still clear. Close it again without delay, because an open reservoir takes in damp air. Fit the TS003, tighten it evenly and lightly, and pull the lever a number of times with the bike stationary before either of its two lives resumes.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the TS003 for the front reservoir of the Panigale V4 S from 2018 to 2020, naming the S Corse of 2019 and 2020 in the same entry. It takes the place of the original cap and leaves the reservoir where it is; with a non-standard front master cylinder, check the application list before ordering. Inter-Pace also carries this cap for the Multistrada 1200, the Hypermotard 821 and Aprilia's RSV4 RR. The FP004, FP007 and TS012 caps cover the other three points on this motorcycle.
Road Approval
We cannot document a German ABE or a test mark for the TS003, and the cap is therefore catalogued for racing and competition use.
