DescriptionThe whole story▼
Rally-style events and training days put a big adventure bike in company it was never designed for, and the rear brake works harder there than anywhere else. It holds a line under power, stops the back end running away on a steep downhill section, and takes a share of the load in every heavy stop. Accossato lists the AGPA92 in the EV2 racing compound for the BMW R1250GS Adventure of 2019 to 2024, a material the company calls a top racing compound.
Key Features
- AGPA92EV2: rear brake pads in the EV2 racing compound
- Catalogued for the BMW R1250GS Adventure, 2019 to 2024
- Accossato describes the material as a top racing compound
- Aimed at competition and closed circuits
- Two pads in the box, the complete set for the rear caliper
- The rear wheel needs one box, not two
- OR, ST, EV1 and ZXC are the other materials on this outline
- No German ABE on file; competition part
Construction and Material Quality
Among the materials Accossato fits to this outline, EV2 racing is the one named for competition outright. Heat decides a rear brake's fate in that setting, because the disc is small and gets little air; the firm's claim for its racing mixtures is that the temperature they reach stays within limits, so the fade which follows overheating keeps its distance. Nothing about the pad's shape changes with the material: the same plate, the same fit in the caliper, two pads to a box.
The Rear Wheel on a Timed Run
When a lap or a stage is being timed, the rear brake stops being an afterthought. It is used on the approach to every marker in company with the front, feathered through slow corners to keep the bike turning, and asked to do all of that within seconds of the last time. A small disc heats up quickly under that pattern, and the pedal is usually where a rider notices trouble first: the movement gets longer, the response softer, and the confidence to lean on it goes. Watching for it is straightforward enough. Look at the pads after every couple of outings, keep the caliper clear of dust so the pistons slide freely, and renew the fluid on schedule, because the rear system is the one most often forgotten.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application data for this pad names the R1250GS Adventure from 2019 to 2024, which is the whole of its coverage. The rear axle has one caliper and needs one box; both pads go in together, and a few firm presses of the pedal afterwards bring the pistons back to the disc. Owners whose riding is spent on public roads rather than closed ones will be better served by the OR or ST versions of this shape. At the front the AGPA252 carries out the same task, and the DK006 is the Accossato disc for the Adventure.
Road Approval
Neither a German ABE nor a test certificate exists in our records for the AGPA92EV2. The pad is therefore supplied for competition use and for closed circuits.
Scope of Delivery
