DescriptionThe whole story▼
At a club race or a track day, a GSX-R600 spends more time in the paddock than on the circuit. Twenty minutes out, forty minutes in, and in between come tyre pressures, fuel and small changes to the bike. The Accossato LV020 suits that rhythm. It is a folding brake lever for the original radial master cylinder of the GSX-R600, listed from 2004 to 2017, with a reach adjuster in its black base and a blade that can fold at the joint.
Key Features
- Folding brake lever for the Suzuki GSX-R600, 2004 to 2017
- For the original radial brake master cylinder
- Reach adjustable at the black base
- Blade can fold at its joint when struck
- RST or NRST blade
- Eight colours, titanium among them
- CNC-machined aluminium, one standard length
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato started out in 1969 near Turin as a builder of competition motorcycles. The LV020 has a black base, which sits on the pivot of the radial master cylinder and carries the reach adjuster, and a blade anodised in the colour you choose. Both parts are CNC-machined from aluminium and connected by a joint, so the blade can fold if it is hit. There is one standard length, and you can order the blade with the lightening cut-out Accossato calls RST or without it (NRST).
Forty Minutes Between Sessions
Between sessions, the lever is one of the few things on a GSX-R600 a rider can change quickly. If your fingers had to stretch into the first braking zone, bring the blade closer; if it came back so far that it pinched your fingers against the throttle, move it out a little. The paddock is also where the lever is most at risk away from the circuit itself. Bikes are pushed in tight rows, lifted on and off stands and turned round between vans and awnings. A GSX-R600 knocked off its paddock stand, or pushed into the bike next to it, often lands on a lever. The folding joint gives the blade a chance to swing away rather than break, which reduces the risk of missing the next session. Make a habit of looking at the lever as you push the bike towards the pit lane: blade in its working position, reach where you set it, nothing loose. On a busy race day that check takes a moment and spares you a surprise at the first braking marker.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the LV020 for the GSX-R600 from 2004 to 2017, for the original radial master cylinder. The LV022 is the second folding brake lever listed for those years; Accossato describes it as having an integrated adjuster. If you would rather have a fixed lever, Accossato's EDF035 is listed for the GSX-R600 from 2004 to 2019.
Road Approval
This folding lever comes without a documented German ABE and is therefore offered for track use.
