DescriptionThe whole story▼
A GSX-S1000 is quick enough for a weekend on alpine passes and, with its upright position, comfortable enough to get there on its own wheels. Riders who travel that way learn to pack for small mishaps, and a spare lever often goes into the tank bag. The Accossato LV022 changes that calculation a little. It is a folding brake lever with integrated adjuster for the original radial master cylinder of the GSX-S1000, listed from 2016 to 2019, and its blade can fold at the joint with its black base.

- Blade can fold at its joint
- Adjustable reach
- RST or NRST blade, standard length

Construction and Material Quality
The LV022 consists of two pieces of CNC-machined, anodised aluminium: a black base that sits on the master cylinder pivot and a blade in the colour you select. The two are linked at a joint, so the blade can fold. Accossato's name for this lever includes an integrated adjuster; the technical details behind that name are not part of the information we have, so we describe the lever only as far as we know it. The blade is available in the standard length, with or without the RST lightening cut-out.
A Spare in the Tank Bag
Experienced travellers often carry the original brake lever on a long trip, wrapped in a rag at the bottom of the tank bag together with the tool needed to fit it. On a GSX-S1000 fitted with the LV022 that habit still makes sense. A folding blade reduces the chance of breaking the lever in a tip-over at a fuel stop or in a hotel car park, but it cannot rule it out, and a spare costs little compared with a lost day several hundred kilometres from home. Practise the swap once in your own garage, so you know what it involves before you need to do it at a roadside. The folding blade has a second benefit on tour. Loaded with luggage, the bike is heavier to manoeuvre on gravel and sloping ground, and a slip at walking pace becomes more likely than at home. That is exactly the kind of fall in which a blade that can fold may save the rest of the trip on the GSX-S1000.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the LV022 for the GSX-S1000 from 2016 to 2019, the same years as the LV020, the other folding lever for this radial master cylinder. Model years outside that span are not part of this listing, so check the year of your GSX-S1000 before ordering.
Road Approval
The LV022 is sold for the racetrack; a German ABE has not been documented for it.
