DescriptionThe whole story▼

Many Panigale V4s are now with their second or third owner, and each owner leaves traces in the cockpit: a lever set for different hands, a blade marked by a tip-over, a colour chosen to someone else's taste. Replacing the brake lever is one of the simplest ways to make such a bike your own. The Accossato EDF099 is listed for the Panigale V4 from 2018 to 2024, fits the original master cylinder and lets you set its distance to the grip for your own fingers.

Key Features

  • Brake lever for the Panigale V4, listed for 2018 to 2024
  • Mounts on the stock master cylinder
  • Adjustable distance to the grip
  • Standard blade around 138 mm in all seven colours
  • Short blade in blue, gold, green, orange and silver; long blade in blue, gold, green and orange
  • CNC-machined aluminium with black anodised hub
  • No folding joint
  • No German ABE documented, for track use

Construction and Material Quality

The EDF099 starts as a solid aluminium blank that is CNC-machined and then anodised. Its hub, which houses the pivot and the reach adjuster, is always black, while the blade comes in black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver or green. The blade carries on rigidly from the hub to the tip without any joint. Fitting it also does away with the scuffs and chips that the original part of a used Panigale V4 may have collected over the years, and because the new colour is anodised rather than painted, it has no coating that could chip in the same way.

Somebody Else's Settings

When you buy a used V4, the lever position was chosen by the previous owner for their hands and gloves, if it was chosen at all. Before the first ride, sit on the bike in your usual kit and see where the blade meets your fingers. With the EDF099, the adjuster near the pivot moves the blade in or out until the first contact falls where your fingers rest naturally. It is also a good moment to look over the master cylinder for signs of a past fall and to have the brake fluid checked, since you do not know its history. A new lever in a colour you picked yourself is a small change, but it is one you see every time you swing a leg over the bike.

Fitment and Compatibility

The EDF099 carries Accossato's V4 998 reference and is listed for the Panigale V4 from 2018 to 2024. For 2018 to 2020, Accossato also lists a second brake lever, the EDF011, under a V4 1100 reference, so owners of early bikes should hold both product photos against their original lever. The ESH011 is the Accossato clutch lever for the V4 of 2018 to 2020.

Road Approval

No German ABE has been documented for this lever; it is intended for circuit riding.
