DescriptionThe whole story▼
Built from the same DNA as championship-winning superbike hardware, the Öhlins FGRT 232 is a fully engineered upside-down fork assembly for the BMW S1000RR (2019–2026) that sets a new benchmark in front-end precision. Whether you are extracting lap times at the circuit or pushing hard on fast mountain roads, the FGRT 232 delivers the structural rigidity, refined damping response and rider-tunable feel that separates a genuine performance upgrade from a cosmetic one.
Key Features
- Öhlins 30 mm cartridge kit internals — the same specification proven in national Superbike championships — deliver consistent, fade-free damping across the full range of riding conditions.
- Independent compression and rebound adjustment lets you dial in brake stability and corner entry feel to match your riding style, tyre choice or circuit demands.
- Upside-down architecture concentrates unsprung mass low and centralises stiffness where it matters, sharpening steering response without compromising ride quality.
- 755 mm total fork length with 120 mm of travel and a 10.0 N/mm spring rate (spring part number 04744-10, 04744-series) sized specifically for the S1000RR platform.
- Stylish, purposeful finish that complements the S1000RR's aggressive aesthetic — performance and appearance in equal measure.
- Type-approved for road use in Germany (ABE), so the upgrade requires no additional registration paperwork for German-registered machines.
Premium Construction & Engineering
Öhlins has engineered the FGRT 232 as a complete front fork kit, not a retrofit damper cartridge. Every component — from the hard-anodised outer tubes to the precision-machined internals — is manufactured to Öhlins' exacting tolerances. The 30 mm cartridge design maintains consistent oil temperature behaviour under sustained hard braking and repeated fast corners, a direct result of the geometry and fluid-pathway engineering refined through years of top-level motorsport competition. The result is a fork that remains predictable and informative whether you are on the brakes deep into a hairpin or loading the front through a high-speed compression.
Road & Track Performance
The Road & Track designation is not a marketing compromise — it reflects a genuine dual-purpose calibration. On the road the FGRT 232 absorbs surface imperfections cleanly, maintaining tyre contact and rider confidence. On track, the independent damping adjusters allow you to stiffen compression for late-braking stability and fine-tune rebound to control front-end rise on corner exit. The spring rate of 10.0 N/mm suits the typical weight and riding profile of the S1000RR and provides a solid foundation for further spring selection if your all-up weight or circuit demands require it. Note: this fork is not compatible with BMW's DDC (Dynamic Damping Control) electronic suspension systems.
Fitment & Compatibility
The Öhlins FGRT 232 is designed and approved to fit the following model:
- BMW S1000RR (2019–2026) — including ABE type approval for Germany
Not compatible with DDC-equipped variants. If your S1000RR is fitted with the optional DDC system, please contact us before ordering to confirm suitability.
Fitting and Setup Service
Öhlins recommends that its suspension is fitted by an authorised service centre. We are one, and we do the work here: installation, servicing and a proper setup. Ask us and we will include it with the order.
