DescriptionThe whole story▼
A folding clutch lever on an XSR900 is cheap insurance against a standstill drop. The LighTech LEVXF001K is the folding Model K (ALIEN) clutch lever in magnesium and aluminium, 260 g, with black rubber inserts for grip, with other colours available separately. Sold individually, so a matched pair on the XSR900 is two part numbers.
Key Features
- Model K is the one to pick if you want to colour-match the XSR900
- 100 % Made in Italy, with the tricolour logo on the blade
- Folding clutch lever — the side that usually lands first on an XSR900
- No drilling, no cutting, nothing permanent on the XSR900
- Machined from magnesium and aluminium, not cast
- Folding design: the lever gives way instead of snapping at the perch
What Folding Buys You
The original clutch lever of the XSR900 is heavier than it needs to be. The LEVXF001K is Model K (ALIEN), machined in magnesium and aluminium and hinged to fold. Made in Italy, as the tricolour on the blade says.
Scope of Delivery
LighTech ships the LEVXF001K individually, not as a left-and-right pair. Grip inserts and spare pivots are listed under their own numbers.
Fitment
This listing covers the Yamaha XSR900, 2013 to 2026. Check that your XSR900 has the standard master cylinder before ordering — aftermarket perches differ.
In the Workshop
No fluid is lost fitting the LEVXF001K to a XSR900 — the circuit stays closed. Check that the blade folds freely by hand once the bolt is tight. Re-check the pivot bolt after the first ride.
Choosing a Model
The K is the one LighTech calls ALIEN, and the name is about the inserts. The inserts are a wear part and are replaced on their own. Choosing between this and the plain black J and the newer H geometry is a question of hand and taste, not of fit.
What LighTech Declares
The manufacturer's position is that the lever range complies with the relevant road legislation. What LighTech declares and what a German inspector needs are not the same document. Track and paddock use raise no question; a road-registered XSR900 might.
