DescriptionThe whole story▼
Steel Grey puts a light, highly visible face on the DriTour 5.5. Pale grey panels dominate the front and back, which helps other road users pick you out on a dull day and keeps the jacket a little cooler in the sun than its darker siblings. Underneath sits the same laminated construction that makes the DriTour line a jacket you simply put on and ride, whatever the forecast.
Key Features
- Light grey shell for better visibility and less heat build-up in sunshine
- Waterproof, breathable HydraDri EVO laminate: 20,000 mm and 20,000 g/m²
- Class AA to EN 17092-3:2020, approved for road riding
- Level 2 3DF pads for back, shoulders and elbows, chest pocket ready for Level 2
- Zip-out insulated jacket for cold days and evenings off the bike
- Vents on upper arms, chest and back
- Neck brace ready, long zip to connect matching pants
Materials and Construction
The base fabric is direct laminated Leatt RipStop 600D, combined with laminated 600D nylon and Deflexion reinforcements over the areas that touch the ground first in a slide. Seams are fully taped. The DWR C0 finish is PFC free. Stretch inserts at the cuffs and a soft neoprene collar edge improve comfort on long stints.
Protective Equipment
Three 3DF protectors are fitted as standard: one for the back, certified to EN 1621-2 Level 2, and pads for shoulders and elbows to EN 1621-1 Level 2. Each sits in an easy-access pocket backed with 3D spacer mesh. A chest protector to EN 1621-3 Level 2 can be added later, as the jacket is prepared for it but does not include one.
Using the Liner
Zip the thermal jacket in when the morning is cold, or wear it on its own in the evening. Because the liner sleeves are zipped to the shell, the arms never get tangled when you slip into the outer jacket. The liner carries two hand-warmer pockets and a zipped mesh pocket.
Fit and Adjustment
Hook-and-loop double flaps set the waist width, Hypalon snaps tighten the upper arms, and lower-arm straps fix the elbow pads in position. Cuffs, hem and collar close with hook and loop, and a snap holds the collar flap back when you want air at the neck. The jacket is cut to work with a Leatt neck brace. Leatt describes the fit as accommodating bigger riders.
Pockets
Storage is spread over both layers. The shell offers two waterproof drop-in pockets under flaps, fleece-lined pockets to warm your hands at fuel stops, a mesh pocket behind the front zip with a smooth base and a large rear pocket closed by a zip and covered by a waterproof flap. Big TPU tips on the pullers make the zips easy to find with winter gloves. The jacket hangs from a strong external loop, which is handy for drying it in a hotel room.
Warranty and Packaging
Leatt includes a 5-year warranty with the DriTour 5.5 and ships it in plastic-free packaging.
What you should know
Light grey looks sharp but shows mud and chain spray more readily than black, so expect to clean it more often after off-road days. The laminated design means the waterproofing cannot be removed. No chest protector is in the box. This colour comes in sizes S to 3XL.
Colour
Steel Grey uses pale grey for the chest, back and front pockets, charcoal grey for the lower sleeves and side panels, and black on the shoulders and collar area. Bronze Leatt logos on the arms add a warm accent. It is the brightest DriTour 5.5 version and the one that stands out most in traffic.
