DescriptionThe whole story▼

MV Agusta's F3 800 wraps the larger version of its triple in one of the most striking supersport bodies on sale, and the versions Accossato lists, from the Rosso and RR to the RC, the R and the Competizione of 2025, all suit riders who like to be seen on a circuit. Such bikes spend much of the lap with the rider tucked behind the screen and gripping the tank with the knees, and many owners fit grip pads to its flanks. Fuel and those pads do not get on. For the F3 800 of 2021 to 2023 and 2025, Accossato's cap is the FC101, machined from aluminium.

  • CNC-machined aluminium body
  • Quick-closing pawl
  • Pin colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, gold

Construction and Material Quality

Aluminium is all there is to the FC101: Accossato cuts it on CNC machines, describes the cap as robust and durable and gives it a new design. On the F3 800, the quick-closing pawl opens the filler with one movement and closes it with another, which keeps refuelling brief. Six colours are offered for the pin on the pawl. If that pawl is ever damaged, a replacement is sold separately.

Grip Pads and Spilled Fuel

Tank grip pads are one of the most common additions to a supersport bike used on track. They sit on the sides of the tank where the rider's knees press under braking, and they are held on by adhesive. Petrol attacks many adhesives and some pad materials, and left on paint it can dull the finish around them, so a careless top-up can loosen a pad you rely on at the end of every straight. On the F3 800, refuel with the engine off and the bike upright, pour slowly and hold a cloth below the filler to catch drips before they run down the flanks. Close the FC101, then wipe the tank from the top downwards, over and around the pads, and let everything dry. Check the edges of the pads regularly. If one starts to lift, clean the surface, fit a new pad and give its adhesive the curing time the maker recommends before the next session, because a pad that shifts when you brake is worse than no pad at all.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's F3 800 entries are the Rosso of 2021 and 2022, the RR and RC of 2021 to 2023, the R of 2023 and the Competizione of 2025, all with the FC101; 2024 has no entry. With us the same cap is listed for the F3 675 and the Brutale 800 RR, and for the KTM 690 Duke R. Check your F3 800 against the application list before ordering.

Road Approval

The FC101 has no German ABE and no documented parts certificate, so we supply it for the track. The F3 800's original filler cap, normally key-operated, remains the one for public roads.
