DescriptionThe whole story▼

The S1000RR's fork top takes a 14 mm hexagon, smaller than the one used on the S1000R, and Accossato's adjuster is sized specifically for it rather than shared across BMW's four-cylinder range. CNC-machined from aluminium and anodised in a choice of colours, the pair fits where the stock preload rings sat, and because the same hexagon size reaches well beyond BMW, into Ducati, Kawasaki and Suzuki machines with the same dimension, it is one of the more broadly useful adjusters in Accossato's catalogue.

Key Features

  • Fork preload adjuster for the BMW S1000RR, 2015-2018
  • 14 mm internal hexagon
  • CNC-machined aluminium, anodised to order
  • Supplied as a pair, one adjuster per fork leg
  • Seven colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, titanium, gold
  • Also fits any adjuster with the same 14 mm hexagon
  • MC002, MC009, SA001, SC001, ST002 and ST008 are also listed for this S1000RR
  • No German ABE on file; offered for track use

Construction and Material Quality

Machined from aluminium on CNC equipment, this adjuster carries a 14 mm hexagon and an anodised finish offered in seven colours: blue, green, black, red, silver, titanium and gold. Accossato states the function without embellishment: the ring sets the pre-stressing of the fork springs, and the finish is there to let an owner match the cap to the rest of the bike rather than to add anything to how it works.

Setting Up Before the Season

For an S1000RR coming out of winter storage, preload is typically the first suspension setting checked, since it decides how much sag the bike carries before compression and rebound are even considered. A 14 mm hexagon that locates squarely under a socket makes repeating that check across a season straightforward, whether the adjustment follows a change of tyres, a passenger, or simply a rider wanting to feel the difference a turn or two makes at the front end.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato lists this adjuster for the BMW S 1000 RR built from 2015 to 2018. The 14 mm hexagon is shared with the Ducati Desert X, Multistrada 1200 and Multistrada 1260, the Kawasaki Z800 and ZZR1400, and the Suzuki GSR750, GSX-S1000 and GSX-S750. Mirror covers MC002 and MC009, steering stem nuts SA001 and SC001, and swingarm bobbins ST002 and ST008 are all listed for this S1000RR.

Road Approval

No test or approval documents, including an ABE, are held for this adjuster, so it is offered for racing and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

The pack contains two adjusters, one per fork leg, in the colour chosen at checkout. No tools travel with the pair.
