The KTM RC8 R 1190 rewards a rider who holds the brake deep and releases it in one motion. The RC8 R 1190 takes the B005: a 8.05 mm stack of ceramic-sintered material across 102.2 by 42.0 mm. The compound is EXR, ZCOO's 2026 answer for RC8 R 1190 riders who found EX Race short on authority.

Construction and Material Quality
Manufacture is Japanese and unchanged across the range, the B005 included. On a 102.2 by 42.0 mm face the backing plate decides whether the pad wears evenly or takes on a taper. Everything about the B005 plate is there to stop the friction face going out of true.
Performance and Feel
Durability is the quiet part of the EXR argument. EX Race is the control mixture; EXR takes the harder bite EXC was known for and rebuilds the progressiveness around it. Which on an RC8 R 1190 is the whole reason to change compound in the first place.

The 2026 listing puts the B005 on the KTM RC8 R 1190 for the 2009 to 2015 model years. The same B005 shape covers 117 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 102.2 mm length and 42.0 mm height. Front axle exclusively - there is no rear B005.
Road Approval
No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
