DescriptionThe whole story▼
Ducati designed the Panigale V4 around an underseat exhaust and then hid most of it. Spark's 3/4 kit replaces everything from the mid-section back with a titanium collector and two Grid-O silencers that sit where the factory ones do — except these weigh 3.3 kg against 6.4 kg, and they are meant to be seen.
Key Features
- Titanium collector with two Grid-O silencers in the underseat position.
- 3.3 kg against 6.4 kg for the section it replaces — 3.1 kg saved.
- Measured by Spark at 105 dB.
- Keeps the standard tail and works with the original number plate holder.
- Compatible with both the original fairings and closed racing bodywork.
- A removable dB killer can be fitted to either silencer.
- Fits the Panigale V4, V4 S, V4 R and the Streetfighter V4.
Why Underseat Is Harder
An underseat exhaust has to route two silencers through the tightest part of the motorcycle, clear the shock and the subframe, and still get rid of its heat without cooking the seat. That is why Spark builds this as a kit rather than a slip-on: the collector geometry, the link routing and the silencer position are one design decision, not three.
The Grid-O silencers are the same design Spark runs on Moto2 and Superbike grids — titanium throughout, mesh end caps, weld seams left visible rather than polished away.
Performance & Sound
105 dB without a dB killer. That sits between the 102 dB Dyno kit and the 112 dB lateral Grid-O version, and it is the figure most European circuits will accept without argument. Both silencers take a removable dB killer if you need to go lower for a specific event.
Spark recommends an ECU remap. On a V4 that is not a formality — the standard mapping is written around a restrictive exhaust, and leaving it alone gives away most of what the kit is for.
What a 3/4 Kit Actually Replaces
The name confuses people, so here it is plainly. A full system replaces everything from the cylinder heads back. A 3/4 kit leaves the primary headers on the engine and replaces the collector, the link section and both silencers. On a Panigale V4 that matters because the headers are buried behind the fairing and the front wheel, and getting them out is a genuinely awkward job.
The practical consequence: you keep the standard lambda sensor positions and the standard header geometry, you fit the kit in an evening rather than a weekend, and you still get the collector — which is where most of the flow restriction lives. It is the point where cost, effort and result cross most usefully for a bike that is not a full race machine.
Installation
Spark's own notes:
- ECU mapping is recommended.
- Compatible with the original fairings and with closed fairings for racing use.
- Compatible with the original licence plate holder.
- Not compatible with passenger footboards.
- The under-saddle lock is no longer accessible with this kit fitted.
Fitment & Compatibility
Ducati Panigale V4, V4 S and V4 R (2018-2024) and the Streetfighter V4. The stainless-collector version of the same kit is GDU8842T, roughly four hundred euros less.
Road Approval
None. This is a competition kit — no EC certificate, no catalytic converter, and the loss of the under-saddle lock alone tells you what it was designed for.
