The R1250R put the ShiftCam boxer in a naked chassis. The JP CO BM018 replaces its combined throttle housing and right-hand switch block with one machined Ergal unit.

136 Horsepower With Nothing Around It
The 1254 cc ShiftCam engine gave the roadster a broader spread of torque than any boxer before it, and in a bike with no bodywork the effect is immediate. The R1250R accelerates in a way that seems out of proportion to how relaxed it looks, which is most of its appeal.
A Cockpit With Nowhere to Hide
Naked motorcycles are judged partly on how their controls look, because there is nothing else in front of the rider. The standard right-hand assembly is a functional moulding and looks like one. A body milled from solid aluminium sits considerably better against the exposed frame tubes and the machined engine casings behind it.
Sealed Against a Wet Commute
An R1250R does more everyday riding than a GS does, and it does it without a screen. The housing is one piece with no moulded joint, and the switch elements inside are sealed units. Those two facts are what determine whether the controls still feel accurate after four or five winters of daily use.
No Model Lettering
This is the unbadged version. JetPrime mills an RS designation into the same housing for the faired boxers, but on a roadster the plain flank is usually the better match and it is what this part number supplies.
Fitted Alongside the Usual Changes
On a roadster this housing tends to go on at the same time as bar ends, levers and mirrors, because they all occupy the same few centimetres of handlebar and it is easier to do them together. Owners who plan that work as one job rather than four separate ones generally end up happier with the result.
