Semi-Active Öhlins and Carbon
The Factory adds electronically managed Öhlins suspension, forged wheels and a substantial amount of carbon to an already comprehensive specification. It is Aprilia's flagship and the price reflects every part of that. What the money buys is not more speed in a straight line but a motorcycle that holds its line under braking and drive in a way the standard bike does not quite match, which is only worth having to a rider who uses it.
Two Hundred and Seventeen Horsepower
From 1099 cc, meeting Euro 5, with a torque curve that no longer requires the rider to keep the engine above eight thousand to make progress. The 2021 enlargement addressed the one criticism the RSV4 had consistently attracted.
Aerodynamics From Racing
The integrated winglets came from Aprilia's MotoGP programme, where the company had been developing them longer than most of the grid. They are functional at circuit speeds rather than decorative.
The Combined Assembly
Right-hand switches inside the throttle housing. Both are renewed together by this unit, machined from one billet and using Aprilia's own connector with no wiring modification and nothing to code afterwards.
Where the Standard Part Shows
Against carbon panels, forged wheels and gold suspension, a cast housing with a clipped plastic cover is conspicuously the component that came from ordinary production. It sits directly in the rider's eyeline.
Four Finishes
Black, blue, red and titanium. On a Factory carrying carbon and Öhlins gold, titanium acknowledges both without attempting to match either, which is generally the more successful approach.
Sealed Elements
Sealed contacts within the machined body. Ingress rather than mechanical wear is what ends switchgear on a motorcycle cleaned hot after every track session.
