The JP CO AP660N is the later throttle housing for the RS 660, carrying the integrated right-hand switch block in machined Ergal.

Two Housings for One Motorcycle
Aprilia revised the throttle assembly during the RS 660's production and JetPrime lists both. They are not interchangeable, and establishing which one a particular bike carries before ordering is the difference between a fitting part and a returned one.
A Twin That Revs
The 659 cc parallel twin makes its power at 10.500 rpm, which is high for the format and comes from sharing its bore and stroke with the RSV4's V4. It sounds and behaves unlike the torquey twins that dominate the class.
A Frame Without a Subframe
Aprilia uses the engine as a stressed member and bolts the swingarm directly to it, dispensing with a conventional rear frame. The result is light, compact and difficult to modify, which is a trade the company was clearly comfortable making.
The Combined Assembly
Right-hand controls inside the throttle housing, as on every current Aprilia. Both are renewed together by this unit, machined from one billet and plugged into the motorcycle's own connector.
Where a Cast Bore Loses Out
The throttle position sensor reads the tube's rotation. A bore cut on a machine holds its tolerance where one formed in a casting gradually does not, and the difference shows at the small openings that matter on a corner exit.
Four Finishes
Black, blue, red and titanium. All four are anodised through the surface, so a low-speed drop dulls the component rather than exposing bright aluminium underneath it.
Sealed Inside
Sealed switch elements within the machined body. An RS 660 used on both road and circuit meets rain and pressure washing in the same month, and a casting with a clipped cover offers a joint to both.
