Sixty-Two More Cubic Centimetres
Ducati took the DVT engine from the Diavel and put it in the Multistrada, gaining torque low down where a touring bike actually uses it. Peak power stayed at 158 horsepower.
A Longer Swingarm
The 1260 gained forty-eight millimetres of wheelbase and a steeper steering head. It made the motorcycle noticeably more stable at speed without dulling the way it turns.
Plain Faced
No maker's mark on the visible surface. It is the choice for an owner who wants the component to look as though Ducati had fitted it.
Throttle Assembly Alone
The switch block stays where it is. This covers the housing by itself, which is the appropriate purchase when the switchgear works properly.
Hours in One Position
A Multistrada holds a throttle opening for a long time rather than working it constantly. A true bore keeps that stable and makes a long day considerably less tiring.
Black Anodised
Converted into the aluminium. On a motorcycle ridden through the weather that keeps other bikes in a garage, no coating lasts the way anodising does.
Cut From Solid
Ergal 7075 at roughly double the yield strength of ordinary machined alloy. A loaded adventure bike puts real force through the bar when it goes over.
A Hundred and Twenty-Nine Newton Metres
The torque figure is what separates the 1260 from the 1200 it replaced. On a heavy motorcycle carrying luggage, that is the number the rider actually feels.
The Last of the Twins
The V4 Multistrada arrived in 2021 and changed the model entirely. The 1260 is the final development of a V-twin line that ran for eleven years and it is very good indeed.
