Brembo From the Factory
The Brutale 1000 arrives with Brembo Stylema calipers and a radial master cylinder, whose clamp geometry differs from a conventional arrangement. That makes the offset drilling the more likely of the two on an unmodified example.
Establishing the Geometry
Offset means one clamp bolt sits ahead of the other relative to the bar. It is visible in a second and it is not reliably deducible from the cylinder's model name, because manufacturers revise the spacing between generations.
A Naked Bike With Aerodynamics
MV fitted winglets to a motorcycle with no bodywork to hide them in, which is either brave or absurd and turns out to be effective. The front stays planted at speeds where a conventional naked starts to feel light.
Carbon Wheels on the Serie Oro
The first 300 bikes had carbon fibre wheels, titanium fasteners and a price that made the RR look reasonable. All of them were allocated before production started, which has become the normal pattern for MV's limited runs.
Where Precision Matters
Two hundred and eight horsepower delivered through a naked chassis puts unusual demands on the rider's right hand. The area around that hand is worked constantly and deliberately, and it deserves to feel solid.
Sealed Construction
Sealed elements inside a housing milled from one block. There is no moulded joint for water to enter and nothing clipped together to work loose under a large four-cylinder engine's vibration.
Black Anodised
One finish, through the surface rather than applied on top. A scrape dulls the component instead of stripping it, which on a motorcycle this expensive is worth having.
