WP Xplor and a Flat Seat
The R gets longer-travel forks, a 21 inch spoked front wheel and a seat shaped to let the rider move fore and aft. Those three changes turn a fast tourer into something that will genuinely leave a road, which is what the badge is for.
Offroad Mode
KTM's setting cuts power and permits substantial rear wheel slip. On a 250 kilogram motorcycle that sounds alarming and is in fact what makes it rideable on gravel, because the alternative is an intervention system fighting the rider constantly.
Aligned Clamp Bolts
Square to the bar, matching KTM's factory arrangement. Adventure riders change master cylinders less often than track riders, so the standard geometry is the more likely of the two on a used example.
Hand Guards and Clearance
Almost every Super Adventure R runs hand guards, whose mounting brackets pass close to the switch and the brake clamp. A narrower drilled plate leaves more room in that area than a universal one, which is a practical rather than an aesthetic benefit.
Standing, Not Sitting
The R's ergonomics assume the pegs over rough ground, which brings the hand to the bar from above and changes which control falls naturally under the thumb. Machined relief works from either posture where a printed symbol works from neither.
Dust Sealing
Fine grit works into a contact and stays there, which makes it more destructive than rain. Sealed elements inside a one-piece body give it nowhere to enter on a bike hosed down after every trail section.
Black Anodised
A single finish, through the surface rather than applied. It dulls with contact instead of chipping, which on a motorcycle that will be laid down more than once is what matters.
