The original Tuono V4 R was where APRC first appeared. The JP PD AP009 replaces its right-hand switch block with machined Ergal.

Where APRC Started
Aprilia launched its Performance Ride Control package on this motorcycle: traction, wheelie and launch control with a quickshifter, all adjustable on the move. In 2011 that was a specification nobody else in the class offered.
Nine Hundred and Ninety-Nine Cubic Centimetres
The first Tuono V4 used the RSV4's litre engine detuned to 167 hp, with the intake trumpets and camshafts changed to move the power down the range. Aprilia enlarged it to 1077 cc only in 2015.
A Superbike With Handlebars
The frame is the RSV4's, adjustable in the same three places, carrying the same short V4. Aprilia fitted a wide bar and a small nose fairing and did remarkably little else, which turned out to be enough.
Adjusting Traction While Riding
APRC is changed with the right thumb without closing the throttle, which riders do continuously as grip changes. Those controls sit in the block being replaced and their feel through a glove decides whether the adjustment is reliable.
Fifteen Years of Contacts
The earliest of these bikes are well past a decade of use. Moulded switchgear reaches the point where one function works intermittently, and the factory response is a complete new assembly at a price that surprises people.
Universal Hole Pattern
The clamp fits the original master cylinder and the radial units. On a motorcycle of this age, the brake assembly has often already been changed, and this part number covers both cases.
Three Anodised Colours
Black, red and titanium, converted into the surface. On a bike this old the anodising outlasts the printed legend on the original by a considerable margin.
