A Cockpit With a Great Deal In It
The RR-R carries riding modes, three levels of engine braking, nine of torque control, wheelie control, a start mode and a display structure to navigate all of it. Most of that is driven from the left-hand cluster, which makes it one of the busiest sets of controls Honda has ever fitted to a handlebar.
Small Buttons, Large Consequences
Changing engine braking or traction level mid-session is a normal part of using this motorcycle properly. The controls that do it are small and close together, and the thumb has to find the right one while the other hand is on the brake. Machined separation is the only thing that helps.
Seven Model Years and Counting
The fitment runs from the 2020 launch through the 2024 revision to the current bike. Honda changed the aerodynamics, the gearing and the electronics calibration across that period without altering the handlebar interface, which is why one part covers the whole run.
Sealed Where It Matters
The elements are sealed units in a housing milled from one block. On a bike used at circuits and washed after every session, the joint in a moulded assembly is where the water gets in, and there is no such joint here.
Two Finishes
Black and titanium. Honda's tricolour bikes carry enough colour already; both options here are deliberately quiet, which suits a cockpit that is mostly display and dark plastic.
A Bike Bought to Be Used
The RR-R is expensive and a surprising number of them see genuine circuit use rather than being kept as showroom objects. That is what puts the switchgear under load: pit lane operation in gloves, repeated setting changes, and a pressure washer afterwards.
Original Connector
The unit plugs into Honda's own loom. Riding modes, torque control, engine braking and the start mode all continue to function exactly as delivered, and no coding is required afterwards.
