A Single Cylinder Ninja
Two hundred and forty-nine cubic centimetres and twenty-eight horsepower from one cylinder, in a bike weighing 151 kilograms. Kawasaki built it for markets where a twin was too much.
A Hundred and Fifty-One Kilograms
Wet, which is extraordinarily light for a full-size motorcycle and the entire point of the single-cylinder design.
A Repair as Often as a Modification
Plenty of these go to owners who have replaced the switch twice and declined to do it a third time. That is a different decision and an entirely reasonable one.
Not the Clutch Switch
Kawasaki reads the clutch lever separately, and a bike that will not start in gear may be reporting either. Establishing which saves ordering the wrong part.
Two Reasons, One Answer
Either the stand has gone or the switch has failed. Both produce identical symptoms and both are resolved the same way, which is why the part sells to two quite different buyers.
Not a Performance Part
There is no weight worth mentioning and nothing that affects how the motorcycle rides. It removes a fault or enables a removal, and nothing else.
A Straight Answer
The controller wants a definite state rather than a measurement, which is why a properly made eliminator works and an improvised bridge frequently does not.
The Complete Job
Put the motorcycle on a paddock stand, find the connector near the swingarm pivot, unplug the switch, plug in the eliminator and secure the lead against chafing. Nothing else is required and no tool beyond what is already in hand.
