Numbered Runs
Aprilia sold the RF in limited batches with a plaque and a specification most owners would otherwise have assembled themselves. A great many were preserved rather than used.
Now Being Used
Which is why well-kept RFs keep appearing on club grids. Preparation starts the same way it does on any RSV4: lights, mirrors, plate and stand.
The Input Disappears
The switch is bolted to the stand bracket. With both gone the controller cannot confirm the stand is up and the engine cuts in gear.
Satisfied Properly
This unit gives the controller the state it expects rather than a bridged pair of terminals. Nothing appears and nothing is stored.

Forks, shock and steering damper, which closed most of the gap between a showroom bike and a prepared one.
The Airbox in the Frame
Aprilia routes the intake through the twin spars, fed by ducts in the fairing nose. It is one reason the motorcycle is as narrow as it is.

Two Hundred and One Horsepower
From the 2017 update, when Aprilia reworked the engine and the fairing and added a six-axis platform. Extracting that from just under a litre without turbocharging or variable valve timing was a considerable piece of engineering.
A Plaque and a Number
Every RF carried one, which turned a specification upgrade into something owners treated differently. It is the reason so many were stored carefully and the reason well-preserved examples are still findable a decade later.
