The Euro 4 636
This generation runs from the 2019 update until Euro 5 forced the 2024 redesign. It has an LCD dash rather than a colour screen and a directness that a good many riders prefer, and it is now cheap enough to buy specifically for circuit use.
Where These Bikes Go
Track days and club supersport. A four-year-old middleweight is past its most attractive point as a road bike and exactly right as a circuit machine, and the conversions tend to be thorough rather than half-hearted.
A Cluster Reduced to Essentials
Once the lights are off, the indicator and horn controls occupy positions the thumb searches without reward. A race cluster removes them and spaces what remains further apart, which is the whole design argument.
Standard Connector
No racing harness is needed. The switch uses Kawasaki's own plug and the factory ECU, so the traction control and power modes continue to function and the motorcycle can still be read by a diagnostic tool.
Crash Economics
Over a season the relevant question is how often a part has to be bought rather than what it costs once. A milled housing scuffs where a moulded one cracks at the clamp, and the difference shows up in sessions missed rather than in a single invoice.
Black Anodised
One finish, through the surface rather than applied. A slide dulls it instead of exposing bright aluminium.
A Simpler Dash
This generation uses an LCD display rather than the colour screen of the 2024 bike, which means fewer functions on the left cluster to begin with. Removing the road controls on top of that leaves a genuinely sparse and very usable arrangement.
