Electronically Managed Öhlins
The Factory's damping is adjusted continuously from the inertial platform. On a short motorcycle with wide bars and no fairing, the chassis loads and releases faster than any fixed setting could usefully follow.
Settings on the Move
Suspension behaviour, engine map and traction level are all reached from this block while riding. On a Factory those genuinely change between a motorway and a mountain pass, and the rider does it without stopping.
The Reordered Column
The blue button drops to the bottom of the row. Under braking the thumb reaches the end of the column first, and a layout built around that saves a fraction of attention that is worth having.
A Damper That Is Not Optional
Aprilia specified an Öhlins steering damper as standard rather than as an accessory. With a light front end, a wide bar and 175 hp, that decision was made for the rider rather than offered to them.
Fitment by Year
The revised control assembly takes this part number, which covers the 2019 and 2020 Factory. Earlier machines need the TC version, and nothing on the outside of the block reliably tells them apart.
Four Finishes
Black, blue, red and titanium. Against gold suspension, titanium acknowledges it without pretending to match, and black leaves the bar looking like it came that way.
Enclosed Elements
Military-specification contacts sealed within the machined body. There is no clipped cover to work loose under a V4's firing interval and no seam for rain to find.
The Motorcycle's Own Connector
Pre-wired, so no soldering and no adapter. Nothing appears on the dashboard and nothing needs to be explained to a workshop later.
