Where Racers Start
Yamaha's 321 cc twin has carried more riders into their first season than almost anything else. Its mapping is conservative and responds to change.
The Original Electronics Are Untouched
Ignition timing, the rev limiter, traction control and every riding mode stay with the standard controller. This unit manages fuel quantity and has no access to anything else.
A Track-Only Machine
The clearest case for this unit. A motorcycle with a full system, no catalyst and a known fuel is exactly the situation where a factory map is furthest from useful.
Ambient Conditions
A map developed on a cold morning is slightly rich on a hot afternoon. The standard controller compensates for most of it and the last part is the price of a fixed map.
The Wrong Purchase
A standard motorcycle, no wideband and no intention of learning the software. That owner should buy the preset module and be happier for it.
Two Axes Cover Everything
Engine speed and load between them describe every operating point a motor reaches. Correcting on both is why this is called complete management rather than a trim.
The Laptop in the Paddock
Somewhere dry, charged and with the cable already attached to the motorcycle. Mapping between sessions is the point of this unit and it needs a working bench.
Approval and the Law
Fuelling forms part of the emissions approval in most European markets. A modified mixture takes the machine outside its approved condition and that is a local question.
A Map Has No Ceiling
Unlike a fixed curve it can keep improving as long as somebody keeps working on it. That is the argument for the higher price and it is only worth anything to an owner who will do the work.
