The JP CJP 082H is the programmable fuel controller for the DL800 V-STROM: a full map with every cell empty, waiting for somebody with software and a wideband sensor.

The New Twin in the Adventure Chassis
Suzuki put the 776 cc parallel twin into a V-Strom, which is the first time the model has not used a vee.
Fitting Comes First
The unit goes in, the map stays empty, the motorcycle is ridden. Only then does the mapping start, because a baseline you have felt is worth more than one you assumed.
Reading the Result
A wideband display or a logged file tells you what the mixture actually did. Without one, mapping is an exercise in changing numbers and hoping.
The Standard Controller Keeps Watching
Its protections, its limiter and its rider aids all continue to operate. Nothing about the added map disables anything the factory built in.
The Injector Is Standard
No fuel hardware changes. The pump, the rail, the regulator and the injectors are all the factory's, and the unit only alters how long they open.
Weather
A map developed cold runs slightly rich when it is hot. The standard controller absorbs most of that; the remainder is the accepted cost of a fixed map.
If Something Feels Wrong
Write the empty map back and ride the same road. Ten minutes settles whether the unit is responsible, which is a diagnostic luxury a reflash does not give.
Naming Files Properly
Motorcycle, exhaust, fuel and date. Six months and three exhausts later, a folder of files called map1 through map9 is worthless.
