DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 033 closes the secondary air passages on the MT-10 SP's cylinder head.
Key Features
- Yamaha MT-10 SP (2022–2024)
- Machined block-off cover for the PAIR ports
- Sealed with its own gasket
- Fully reversible to standard
The Higher Specification
Electronically managed Öhlins, a specific display and M1 colours. The SP is the version bought by riders who intend to use everything the chassis offers.
Same Head, Same Cover
Yamaha changed the suspension and the electronics rather than the engine. The PAIR arrangement is shared with the standard MT-10 and takes the same plate.
Two Passages to Close
Fresh air travels from a reed valve into the exhaust ports. The cover seals the galleries at the head and the system stops functioning entirely.
A Gasket in the Box
The sealing face is close enough to an exhaust port that only a proper gasket survives. Silicone applied by hand hardens within weeks and then leaks.
Semi-Active Damping
The SP's Öhlins adjust continuously from an inertial platform. On a naked bike with this much torque and a short wheelbase, the load genuinely moves that quickly.
Machined Flatness
A cut plate holds its face through repeated heating and cooling. Pressed covers move, and on a head that shows up as a weep at the joint.
Road Legality
Emissions equipment is part of type approval and removing it changes that. On a bike still ridden on public roads, leaving it fitted is the sensible course.
Honest Fuelling
The lambda sensor stops reading air that never passed through the combustion chamber, which matters to anybody putting the bike on a dyno.
Reversible
The original parts go back at any point. Nothing about the cylinder head is altered in the meantime.
Suspension That Reads the Road
The SP's Öhlins adjust continuously from an inertial platform rather than sitting at a chosen setting. On a naked bike with a short wheelbase and this much torque, the load genuinely moves faster than any fixed damping curve can follow.
