The JP ES 041 is the mechanical half of the secondary air deletion on the Monster 1200 S: the housing comes off the head and aluminium goes on in its place.

Two Hundred and Nine Kilograms
Wet, unchanged from the standard 1200 because the lighter wheels offset the additional hardware. The difference is in behaviour.
Aluminium Instead
A cover machined from solid, sealing on an O-ring in a turned groove. There is nothing inside it to age and nothing to inspect for the life of the engine.
Twenty Minutes Once Exposed
The work itself is short. Everything else in the job is getting the tank and airbox out of the way first.
Sold Separately for a Reason
Some owners want only the fault gone; others want the whole system out. Ducati's arrangement allows both without forcing a choice.
On a V-Twin
The two heads sit at ninety degrees, which means the rear one is considerably harder to reach. Plan the evening around that rather than around the part.
A Repair as Much as a Deletion
On any Ducati past its first decade the housing is a component with limited life left. Aluminium removes a job that was coming anyway.
Access Is the Real Cost
The part itself takes twenty minutes. Getting the tank and frequently the airbox out of the way is what fills the evening, which is the whole argument for doing the electrical half in the same session rather than paying for the same access twice.
The Hose Route to the Airbox
It runs from the head up and forward into the airbox, usually clipped at two or three points along the way. Following it before anything is undone shows exactly where the intake end terminates, which is the fitting that has to be closed once the housing is gone.
