The Triple Arrives
Yamaha finally put the CP3 into a faired chassis, and the R9 went into club racing before most dealers had one in the showroom.
Cut From Solid
Ergal machined rather than moulded, which is why the body survives the knocks a top yoke collects over a season of being wheeled about.

Three hundred and fifty grams. Nobody should buy this expecting a lap time, and everybody who has fitted one mentions the keyless operation first.
An Older Motorcycle
Barrels seize, keys wear and the switch pack inside eventually goes intermittent. On a machine already destined for a circuit, replacement is the moment to change approach.
Transport
A machine in a van with no ignition lock cannot be started by somebody leaning over the tailgate. It also cannot be locked, which cuts both ways.
Made the Expensive Way
A body cut from solid Ergal, anodised rather than painted, a switch sealed to a rating written for industrial washdown, and a plate drawn for one motorcycle. None of that is necessary for a button and all of it is why this one lasts.
