The JP KS DU041 clears the top yoke of the Scrambler 800: lock, bracket and key out, one anodised body with one button in.

An Unexpected Racer
Ducati built one-make Scrambler series and the bikes turned out to be genuinely entertaining on a circuit, which is the only reason this part is listed for one.
Cut From Solid
Ergal machined rather than moulded, which is why the body survives the knocks a top yoke collects over a season of being wheeled about.
Fitted With the Yoke in Place
Nothing needs the front end dismantling. The block unbolts from above and the new one goes back in the same holes.
Starting the Bike
The starter button stays where it was on the switchgear. This part replaces the ignition block and not the controls around it.
Immobilisers
Where the key holds a transponder, the aerial around the barrel is part of the circuit. That question has to be answered before the barrel comes off, not after.
The Rating Explained
IP69K is the standard for withstanding close-range hot water at high pressure. It exists for food machinery and it suits a paddock hose just as well.
No Maintenance
Nothing to grease, nothing to adjust and no interval. The switch is sealed and the body is a solid piece of aluminium.
What Happens Electrically
The button opens and closes the same circuit the key did. The engine controller sees no difference and nothing is simulated.
Fitted Before the Bodywork
If the machine is being stripped anyway, this belongs in the same session. Doing it later means removing the tank a second time for twenty minutes of work.
Keeping the Motorcycle Reversible
Nothing is cut, drilled or soldered. The standard block refits on its own fasteners with its own connector in about the time it took to remove. Keep the barrel and its key together in a labelled bag, because a barrel without a key is worth nothing.
