The JP KS CF030 removes the 300 SR's key barrel and the weight that goes with it, which on a race-prepared machine is a straightforward trade.

Entry Level, Properly Made
The 300SR is a first faired motorcycle for a lot of riders, and a first track bike for enough of them that preparation parts exist at all.
Check the Immobiliser First
Where the key carries a transponder, the ring around the barrel is part of the starting circuit. That has to be settled before the barrel comes off.
A Race Regulation Question
Some championships have rules about how the engine must be stoppable. Worth reading before ordering rather than at scrutineering.
The Transponder Ring
On bikes with an immobiliser the aerial sits around the barrel. Remove the block and the starting circuit loses it, which needs solving separately.
Why a Lock Exists at All
It stops the wrong person riding away and it satisfies the registration rules. Both purposes disappear the moment a motorcycle stops being used on roads.
No Software
Nothing is flashed and no controller is told anything. The part is a switch and it behaves like one from the first ride.
No Maintenance
Nothing to grease, nothing to adjust and no interval. The switch is sealed and the body is a solid piece of aluminium.
Cleaning
Anodising tolerates the chemicals a motorcycle meets. What it does not tolerate is abrasive, which is true of every finished part on the machine.
What the Buyer Will Ask
Whether the original lock exists. A bike offered without it is a negotiation rather than a straightforward sale.
What Actually Leaves the Motorcycle
A steel lock barrel, its tumblers, a mounting bracket, a switch pack and the key. Three hundred and fifty grams by the manufacturer's figure, all of it sitting above the fork crown where a motorcycle is least willing to carry weight.
