DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ACCGP KT016 fits the KTM 1290 Super Adventure R built between 2017 and 2024, the off-road version of KTM's largest adventure platform and a newer, more electronically supervised machine than the older 1190 Adventure R it replaced. A sixty-degree throttle rotation suits riding that leans on both rider skill and rider aids.
Key Features
- KTM 1290 Super Adventure R (2017–2024)
- GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
- Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
- Standard throttle assembly refits at any time
A Newer Generation of Supervision
Where the older 1190-based R relied almost entirely on the rider's own feel for the terrain, this platform layers lean-angle-aware rider aids on top of whatever the throttle hand does, which means a throttle input feeds into more than just the engine. A cleaner, shorter rotation gives that layered system a tidier signal to interpret in the first place.
Torque Management on a Supervised Machine
The electronics here moderate how aggressively the big V-twin's torque reaches the rear wheel depending on lean angle and wheel speed, so a rider's own throttle input is only one half of the equation rather than the whole of it. A shorter rotation still matters, because the rider's half of that equation becomes easier to execute with intent rather than by accident.
Why Smoothness Still Matters With Aids Switched On
Rider aids soften the consequence of a mistake without removing the benefit of avoiding one in the first place, and a smooth, deliberate throttle hand produces a calmer ride even when the electronics are quietly working in the background. The GP Series throttle supports that smoother input style rather than replacing the need for it.
Three Preload Steps for an Electronics-Heavy Bike
A bike carrying this much onboard supervision still asks a rider to commit a clear, readable throttle signal, and the progressive spring's three external preload settings let an owner tune how firmly that signal snaps back to idle, independent of whatever the chassis electronics are doing underneath it.
Machined Ergal, One Part Among Many Systems
The shorter throttle cam is machined from a solid block of Ergal rather than stamped, holding tight tolerances the way a mechanical component should, even sitting inside a motorcycle whose other systems lean heavily on sensors and software rather than pure mechanics.
A Mechanical Change Only, Nothing Recalibrated
Because the GP Series throttle alters nothing in the wiring or the sensor it connects to, none of the bike's rider aids or lean-sensitive systems need touching beyond the standard diagnostic throttle position reset performed once fitting is complete, and the original throttle bolts straight back on whenever an owner wants factory specification again.
