Where Triumph Hides It
Behind the engine or under the tail depending on the model, with three hoses and a bracket. It is never anywhere convenient.
Nothing Structural
The bracket carries the vessel and nothing else. Removing it affects no part of the frame, the subframe or anything that holds the motorcycle together.

A road bike and a track bike answer this question differently, and the same model can be either depending on what its owner intends.
Where the Space Goes
Rear shock, linkage, exhaust hanger and any luggage frame all compete for the same volume behind the engine. Clearing the vessel is frequently what makes an accessory fit without improvisation.
Nothing Needs Replacing to Refit
The clips are reusable, the hoses are undamaged and the bracket bolts back to its original holes. That is why keeping the parts is worth the shelf space.
On a Bike That Tours
Filling to the brim at every stop is exactly what a rider crossing empty country does, and exactly what ruins a charcoal bed. The models with the largest tanks therefore suffer most, which is the opposite of convenient.
Corroded Clips
After several winters the spring clips are usually seized. Replacing them with new ones on the refit is worth the small cost and the small effort.
